Subject: Tour of Myanmar

Hello Dui,

Janet and I are back at home and think constantly of all that we have seen and done in our month of touring Asia. Besides our tour of Myanmar, we also saw Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Tokyo.

I would like to take this opportunity to provide a little feedback of how we found the tour your company provided.

Firstly, we really like private tours as they give you maximum freedom to personalize each day if you like. When you are a part of a group, it simply cannot be done, so kudus to you for providing us with that flexibility built in.

Secondly, all of the guides you have are excellent, someone in your organization does a very good job of picking the right people to be your guides. They were all very personable and fun to be with.

The content of the tour was good, we feel that we got a really good feel of the people and culture of your wonderful country. And we feel that everything will get better for all of your citizens as your new government works to see that it happens.

I do have a couple of suggestions for possible improvement areas.

Early morning flights, sometimes very early. I personally do not like to get up at 5 am when on holidays just to get to the airport on time. In most cases, the places we flew to during the tour had more than one flight per day, so why not pick a later flight to make the day more pleasant. As you know, tourists are not sleeping in their own beds, so this makes for poor sleeps, especially if you know you have to get up really early. In a couple of cases our sleep was interrupted by noises from the outside. So if your client has a poor sleep or just not enough sleep, he will not gain maximum enjoyment of the day’s activities. Two situations come to mind, in one, the hotel actually opened up breakfast before 6 am so we could have a continental breakfast before going to the airport. A second situation was leaving the Amata on Inle Lake, the 1 hour boat ride at 6 am would have been much more enjoyable at a later time.

I would also suggest spending the extra dollars at the Yandapon Hotel in Mandalay to upgrade the room. You walk in to the hotel past the pleasant cabins and greenery on both sides going to the lobby, but the room they give you faces a very unsightly dirty wall of the next building. I got an upgrade for only $10 per day more, and our view was excellent, the room was on the top floor in the center of the building with a balcony where you could admire the front view of the hotel.

All of the other hotel rooms we got were very nice, the Bagan Thande and the Amata were our favourites.

So thank you for the wonderful time we had in your beautiful country, and I hope these comments may be of some use to you. Do not hesitate to ask if you have questions or require clarification to some of my comments.

Regards
